General Compliance
At the School of Medicine, this pertains to the matters of healthcare reimbursement
issues including Coding & Billing and Fraud & Abuse. One of the major
responsibilities that the Office of Compliance Services carries out is the
annual audit for billing healthcare providers. We also answer any questions
related to this issue.
HIPAA
The School of Medicine provides assistance with privacy and security questions
involving clinical practices, researching and its medical training programs.
Research
The School of Medicine has over 18 research institutions on campus and much
of its faculty members are principle investigators in research studies. The
Office of Compliance Services provides assistance to the IUSM research community
as it affects HIPAA, CFR Part 11 and other regulatory matters.
