Annual Compliance Training:
All faculty members are responsible for completing one hour of billing compliance training by June 30th of each academic year.
This training includes (but not limited to):
- Coding and Documentation Guidelines
- Teaching Physician Guidelines
- 95 & 97 Documentation Guidelines
- Non Physician Practitioners Billing Requirements
- Fraud and Abuse
- Healthcare reimbursement compliance
This training may be obtained through the following options:
- New Employee Compliance Orientation (NECO)
- Via the online training modules. (You must complete 3 modules for each hour of training)
- Office of Compliance Services scheduled training sessions with Departments and/or their faculty
- Participation in a Compliance Committee meeting as a member
- Attendance at a compliance session during a conference*
- Compliance training provided by Department staff or 3rd party*
*Copies of materials covered and verification of attendance at sessions not conducted by the Office of Compliance Services (OCS) must be approved before credit can be given.

Important Note! Server maintenance is done on Thursdays from 9:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. If you have difficulty accessing the training modules during that time, the server might be down for maintenance.
- The Office of Compliance Services (OCS) will track the faculty members who attend training conducted by the OCS personally or via the OCS online training.
- The OCS will send a report to the department administrator monthly that will reflect online training completed by faculty members.
- Any training obtained through other sources will require the individual to provide these materials and verification of attendance to the department administrator; the department administrator will forward the materials to the OCS for verification of attendance
