New Employee Compliance Orientation (NECO)
All new faculty members must attend New Employee Compliance Orientation (NECO) within 90 days of their start date.
This training includes:
- General Compliance
- HIPAA Privacy and Security
- Coding and Documentation Guidelines & Teaching Physician Guidelines (this training will count towards your Annual Compliance training requirement for the year taken)

Tracking:
- The Office of Compliance Services (OCS) will give each participant the yellow copy of the two part attendance form. It is the responsibility of the participant to return this form to their Department to get credit for attending NECO, and HIPAA Privacy and Security training.
- The Office of Compliance Services (OCS) will track the faculty members who attend the Coding & Documentation portion of the training.
